What benefits are clearly seen with the elderly who regularly exercise in comparison to those who don’t exercise at all?

What benefits are clearly seen with the elderly who regularly exercise in comparison to those who don’t exercise at all?

This is a fantastic question! I could talk all day on this subject, however, I will do my best to answer as swiftly as possible (maybe.)

First of all, most “elderly” (this is assuming at least 65-70 years old) individuals that regularly exercise can be in better shape than many, many individuals in their 20s, 30s, 40s, etc…

Don’t forget that the U.S. is the most obese country in the world and fast food and laziness are some main factors. If older individuals are eating properly and exercising regularly, then my statement above is 100% accurate.

Yes, bones lose density over the years and other things happen as well that limit our abilities, however, individuals that are in the “elderly” age that are exercising on a regular basis will likely have been doing it for many decades or at least many years (for the most part) and have limited the loss or even better – no loss or minimal loss OR gain. There is no wrong age that is the right age to get fit or healthy. Small changes can literally add years for anyone! Anyone struggling with this should visit here and check it out.

It would be quite a feat to ask someone that is in the third quarter of their life to change at all, so if they haven’t been doing it then changes for the better are against the odds. This is an unfortunate truth.

So to the comparison:

What benefits are clearly seen with the elderly who regularly exercise in comparison to those who don’t exercise at all?

There will be MANY differences!

Men’s benefits that are clearly seen that are elderly who regularly exercise:

  • They are physically in good shape
  • They likely look 10 to 20 or more years younger
  • They can walk, stand on their own, obviously exercise and live life
  • They can travel and go out and have fun
  • They likely don’t have diabetes or any other disease caused by not exercising and eating poorly
  • They are simply older and have taken care of themselves

Women’s benefits that are clearly seen that are elderly who regularly exercise:

  • They are physically in good shape
  • They likely look 10 to 20 or more years younger
  • Their skin is tighter thus the younger look
  • They love life and are very happy
  • They can walk, stand on their own, obviously exercise and live life
  • They can travel and go out and have fun
  • They likely don’t have diabetes or any other disease caused by not exercising and eating poorly
  • They are simply older and have taken care of themselves

You can obviously notice that many are the same for both men and women but there are so many more benefits for elderly individuals who exercise regularly that it would take too long to list.

Now onto the opposite side of this.

What are Men’s benefits that are clearly seen that are elderly who DON’T regularly exercise:

You can expect a man stated in the ages above that are not exercising regularly to be in quite a different situation than the former.

  • They will likely be overweight or even obese
  • Their skin is likely loose, fat and jiggly
  • Their health is likely poor to very poor due to lack of physical exercise over many years
  • They might need a wheelchair to get around (obviously this conjecture)
  • They are always tired
  • They have no motivation, which is possibly why they would be in this situation
  • Many more…

What are Women’s benefits that are clearly seen that are elderly who DON’T regularly exercise:

  • They will likely be overweight or even obese
  • Their skin is likely loose, fat and jiggly (bingo wings for example)
  • Their complexion is horrible and possibly have spotting on body parts
  • They wear clothing that is comfortable for moving around the house ONLY
  • Their health is likely poor to very poor due to lack of physical exercise over many years
  • They might need a wheelchair to get around (obviously this conjecture)
  • They are always tired
  • They have no motivation, which is possibly why they would be in this situation
  • Many more…

You will notice that most of the benefits or non-benefits from exercise, or not exercising for elderly individuals are the same for both men and women. This is true and there are many, many more benefits from exercising for all people, not just the elderly. In addition, the same applies to all that take the latter route of not exercising.

To summarize:

The good news:

Elderly individuals that exercise regularly and consume good, clean food will look much better, be healthier, most likely live longer, take vacations and simply live life as it should be lived, which is free and our own terms – no matter what age we are.

The bad news:

Elderly individuals that DON’T exercise regularly will likely be overweight, in poor health, have many prescriptions for things that could be cured by exercise alone and many more deep issues that are not for this post.

Here is a post from clearcareonline.com that shows some other issues that I have not covered.

Some of them include:

  • Hypertension
  • High cholesterol
  • Certain cancers
  • Breathing problems
  • Gallstones
  • Depression

I think a good start to fixing this issue would be getting the eating habits right. After all, it plays the biggest role in our health, besides all the other bad things like cigarettes, alcohol, fast food, and a million more bad ones.
